Abstract

In this paper, ZnO nanorods (NRs) were successfully synthesized through a simple two-step method, a sol–gel spin-coating method followed by a hydrothermal process, and the effect of increasing of hydrothermal time into solution including ZnO NRs on the structural, optical, electrical and UV sensing properties were investigated. XRD diffraction patterns show that all of samples are in the same wurtzite hexagonal crystal structure with a preferential orientation along the c-axis. Photosensing properties of ZnO based ultraviolet (UV) detectors were investigated. Increasing the hydrothermal time up to 20min the sensitivity was enhanced due to increase the resistivity.
