Abstract

The photoluminescence properties of nanoporous anodic alumina membrane produced in acidic electrolyte was investigated. This nano-scale membrane is employed as templates, filters, reactors and so on in a wide variety of technological and industrial fields. Nanoporous anodic alumina membrane along with its photoluminescence behavior as an advantageous optical characteristic provides more applications in which an accurate performance of nanodevices is derived; hence, this optical property is analyzed by different excitation wave lengths in order to identify its optical defect-points sub-band electronic structure depending on controllable parameters (i.e. anodization voltage, current density, membrane geometry, temperature, type and concentration of acidic electrolyte, and so forth).
