Phytochemical analysis of the Ethyl Acetate Extract of the Leaves of Hyoscyamus senecionis

Abstract

Plants of the Hyoscyamus genus, has been traditionally used for stomach cramps, psychosis and severe coughs. Herein, a phytochemical analysis was performed on the ethyl acetate extract of the leaves of H. senecionis. Applying the column chromatography and NMR techniques resulted in purification and identification of compounds gastrodin and daucosterol.
