Resonance of warm plasma column with elliptical cross-section at scattering of long-wavelength electromagnetic waves

چکیده مقاله

Using the scattering of long-wavelength electromagnetic waves from an elliptical cylinder warm plasma, the resonance frequencies of these plasma objects are obtained. It is assumed that the wavelength of incident wave is much greater than the dimensions of the cross-section of the plasma column. Furthermore, consistency between the obtained results in this configuration and results for the column plasma with circular cross-section is investigated. It is found that although the cold plasma resonated at a unique frequency but the inclusion of thermal effects in the plasma gives rise to a series of resonances.
