Abstract

Activated carbon were prepared from granular carbon was supplied by KOH-activation. For preparing percent of Novolac Phenolic Resin was used as a binder. All samples were characterized by N2 adsorption-desorption analysis and also, samples were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Finally, for all samples, the amount of methane adsorption and desorption at 293.15K were investigated. The influence of each weight ratio on the properties of thActivated carbon were prepared from granular carbon was supplied by KOH-activation. For preparing e activated carbons was evaluated, and the effect of each weight ratio on the amount of methane adsorption and desorption was experimentally compared. By using varying weight ratio, was found that KOH/carbon: 2 has most micro porosity and surface area. It has been shown that the ratio KOH/carbon: 2 is the best activated adsorbent for methane adsorption and desorption.
