Abstract

In this study, Adsorption equilibrium data for binary mixtures of methane and hydrogen have been determined. For this purpose different composition of methane and hydrogen mixtures were used as feed stack for separation by nano-porous monolithic activated carbons. Two samples of activated carbons were considered for this study. The first one prepared using KOH activation and other one without activation. It was found that methane was selectively adsorbed more than hydrogen because these adsorbents have more affinity to adsorb methane. Also the sample was modified by KOH activation can separate more methane than the sample without using activation process because of appropriate physical properties
