The Predicting of Pain based on Emotional Expression in Women with Breast cancer in Pandemic COVID-19: mediating role of life Style

Abstract

Introduction: Pain is an unpleasant feel and the pain of treatment proceedings is more than cancer pain. Present study aimed to predict Pain based on emotional expression with mediating role of life Style in Women with Breast cancer in Pandemic COVID-19

Methods: This study was quantitative and methodology of correlation. participants were Women with breast cancer in 2020 in Tehran. 160 Women with breast Cancer with inclusion criteria were selected by available sampling and completed the questionnaires of King and emmons’s emotional Expression (1991), Lali and et als life style (2012) and Mc Gill, s pain (1973). Data were analyzed by Pearson’s correlation and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM).

Results: The results indicated that positive emotional expression negatively correlate pain and negative emotional expression negatively correlate pain (P<0.01). The results of SEM showed that life style significantly mediate on the prediction of pain based on positive and negative emotional expression in Women with breast cancer in pandemic COVID-19 (P<0.01).

Conclusions: Emotional expression effect pain of women with breast Cancer through changing in physical feels and pain perception and healthy life style effects through recovering immune system and positive emotional expression, that was led to experience less pain in treatment proceedings in Pandemic COVID-19. In order to decrease Cancer pain, nurses should pay attention to emotional expression and through counselling and training, cancer patients were encouraged to healthy life style.
