Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of TOM training on the development of intimacy in couples. To this end, we selected 16 couples (n ¼ 32) and randomly assigned them to experimental and control groups for a quasi-experimental study. The couples in the experimental
group received eight 90-minute sessions of TOM training on a weekly basis while those in the control group received no training. For data collection, we used Bagarozzi’s Marital Intimacy Needs Questionnaire (MINQ, 2001). Based on the findings, it can be stated that TOM training can be effective in promoting intimacy between married couples.
