چکیده مقاله
The set of governing equations for whirling analysis of a rotor modeled by Timoshenko beam theory, consists of four coupled partial differential equations which using complex variables, can be reduced to two coupled partial differential equations. Regarding this method, the characteristic equation of the rotor depends on the determinant solution of order 4. In this paper, basic functions are derived to whirling analysis of Timoshenko rotor subjected to axial load. These basic functions reduce order of final characteristic determinant to 2. The most advantage of basic functions will appear in analysis of rotors with local discontinuities where they keep order of final characteristic determinant as 2 for a rotor with any number of local discontinuities. Effect of angular velocity of spin and axial load on the natural frequencies of the rotor are investigated exactly.
