Abstract

A rapid and convenient synthesis of N-substituted pyrrole derivatives is described using ionic liquid as a homogeneous catalyst under microwave irradiation. The [HNMP][HSO4] catalyst possess a lot of unique properties such as very low vapor pressure, high thermal and chemical stability, noncorrosive, nonflammability properties and easy reaction work-up. This reaction was carried out using 2,5-dimethoxy tetrahydrofuran and primary amines under solvent-free and green chemistry conditions.
