Convenient and Mild Template Synthesis and Characterization of Some New Schiff Base Complexes of Uranyl (II)

Abstract

Some new Schiff base complexes were prepared via one pot three component reaction by the condensation of 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde and various diamines in 2:1 molar ratio with UO2(O2CCH3)2 in methanol solution. This template synthetic reaction gave high yields between 72 and 87 % of the analytically pure products at convenient reaction times range to 30–60 min in methanol solution under mild reaction conditions. The structure of products was confirmed by several techniques using elemental analysis (C.H.N. ), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, ultraviolet, proton and carbon nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR, 13C NMR) spectroscopy and mass spectrometry.
