Abstract
Considering the widespread use of radioactive materials and ionizing rays in most fields, such as agriculture,
medicine, industry, and energy supply, The presence of a dosimeter is necessary to measure the dose of these rays
to reduce their damage. The present study involves the synthesis of Zn2SiO4/SiO2:Mn nanophosphors utilizing
ZnC4H6O4 powder, NaOH, and SiO2, followed by heating at 950 ◦C to develop a thermoluminescence dosimeter
for potential use in various applications. Structure and morphology of the Zn2SiO4/SiO2:Mn nanophosphor were
studied utilizing techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and energy
dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). The thermoluminescence (TL) glow curves of the Zn2SiO4/SiO2:Mn
nanophosphor were meticulously analyzed under controlled laboratory conditions. Analysis results revealed that
the nanophosphor has a remarkable sensitivity towards low doses of ultraviolet rays. The study demonstrated the
effectiveness of Zn2SiO4/SiO2:Mn nanophosphor in detecting and measuring ultraviolet radiation.
