Abstract
Introduction: The urban regeneration approach encompasses a wide range of social, economic, cultural, and environmental considerations. Due to the constant interaction between these considerations, it can be said that urban regeneration also includes concepts and solutions such as social capital.
Objectives: The purpose of this research is to study and investigate the role of developing social capital and creating public motivation in urban regeneration projects in District 6 of Isfahan Municipality.
Methodology: The research type is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-analytical in nature. The main research tool is a questionnaire, which has been confirmed by using face validity. The reliability test of the tool is also using Cronbach's alpha coefficient with a total statistic of 0.946, indicating the reliability of the research findings at a confidence level of 95%. The statistical population of the research is the total residents of the 6th district of Isfahan city, the sample size was calculated using the Cochran formula, 250 people, which were randomly distributed using stratified sampling. Descriptive and inferential analyses of the collected data were performed using SPSS software and Kendall statistical tests. AMOS software was used for structural equation modeling analyses.
Geographical Context: District 6 is the municipality of Isfahan.
Results: The findings indicate that, with a significance level of less than 0.05, it indicates a significant relationship between the level of public participation and urban regeneration. Also, the results of the application of structural equation modeling show that the highest effective social capital index on the regeneration process of District 6 of Isfahan is assigned to the index of sense of belonging and social institutions with a factor load of 0.80.
Conclusion: The results of the research show that by improving each of the social capital indicators at the local community level, it can lead to greater success in implementing urban regeneration projects and generate public motivation at the local community level.
