Measuring and evaluating urban environment quality indicators (case study of the Kadhimiya area of Baghdad)
Abstract:
Today, the cities have faced many problems under the influence of high population growth and due to that intense physical development, including the spread of spatial and social inequalities, reduction of security and safety, unemployment, high cost of housing and environmental pollution and these issues have affected the quality of the urban environment and subsequently the quality of life of the citizens. The statistical population of the research is the residents of Kazimieh district of Baghdad. The sample size was selected using Cochran's formula of 384 people. The type of research is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-analytical in terms of conducting method. for data analysis were used Statistical capabilities of SPSS software. The findings of the One sample t test of the research, at the 95% confidence level, showed that the Kazimieh area of Baghdad has a favorable situation only in the urban environment security index and in other indicators of the quality of the urban environment, including access, educational-cultural and economic, respectively, it is not in a good condition with total T values of -10.65, -5.902, -7.825 and a significance level of less than 0.05.
