Abstract
One of the ways to optimize energy consumption in the poultry industry is to insulate the roof and walls of the poultry hall. Economic analysis of this method guarantees its applicability. Accordingly, in this study, considering a sample broiler farm, located in Iran, Kashan city, the thermal losses of the roof and its walls are calculated in two insulated and non-insulated modes. Due to the thermal losses of the hall in these two cases, the amount of fuel required for it is obtained and the economic analysis of the insulation of this hall compares the cost of performing insulation with the value of the saved fuel and the return time of the investment.
The results of this study show that the insulation of this model hall is economical, and the cost paid for its insulation in the first two years of operation will be reimbursed from the cost of reducing fuel consumption. Due to the fact that Kashan city is located in an area with low energy consumption, therefore, the results of this research can be used for all areas with moderate energy consumption and high energy consumption.
