Applying [HNMP][HSO۴] ionic liquid in PU-ZnO mixed ‎matrix membrane to improve gas separation properties ‎

چکیده مقاله

In this study mixed matrix polyurethane membrane were used to separate CO2 from N2 and CH4. For this ‎purpose, polyurethane based on polyester, zinc oxide nano particle as filler and ionic liquid ‎‎[HNMP][HSO4] were applied. The membranes were prepared by solution casting method.‎ ‎ The structural characteristics of the membranes were studiedby Field emission scanning electron ‎microscopy (FESEM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR). The results showed, in presence of ionic liquid ‎up to 2% loading, CO2 permeability significantly increased but by increasing the loading this trend is ‎vice vers. Nevertheless, presence of ionic liquid as compatibilizer in membrane improve the ‎performance of Pu-ZnO mixed matrix membrane.‎
