Abstract

Evaluation of entrance design indicators of metro station in the historical context of Tehran city, according to considerations of Passive Defense

Population density and congestion of administrative and service uses in the historic and worn-out urban fabric of Tehran, has made the possibility of having access to a simple and safe transportation system, like the metro, an inevitable necessity. Among the various metro design indicators, the entrance element, which is responsible for communication between the interior and exterior of the station, is an important indicator that it's all parts from its location to its design, has elegance, and has a special complexity and needs precise forecasts. Subway stations as one of the most important urban centers in Tehran's historic texture area make it possible to use them for temporary accommodation and emergency assistance at the time of occurring any incidents. Using the Passive Defense requirements for designing the components of the metro station is one of the most important ways of providing metro security in crisis situations. The aim of current research is evaluation of entrance of the metro station in the historical core of Tehran city according to standards and determination of entrance design indicators of the metro station according to considerations of passive defense. The current research is the type of qualitative and applied ones. At first, by surveying the regulations, the entrance design indicators of the metro station according to considerations of passive defense have been extracted. The extracted indicators have been evaluated using the Hierarchical AHP process in Tehran's twelve areas and the degree of importance (weight) for each of the criteria and options has been calculated based on the regulations is using Expert Choice software and prioritization of the indicators based on the sensitivity calculation method. The results indicate that the two criteria of the "entrance gap distance" to the main arteries and "access to entrances" with relative weights of 0.205 and 0.027 have the maximum and minimum impacts on the design of the entrance to the metro station and Accordingly, the entrance of the metro station of the “Darvaz-e- Doulat`s” with five indicators of nine standard indicators has the highest weight and is designated as the highest entrance of the station.
