Investigation of effective operational parameters on an industrial double-cycloneof HDPE fluidized bed drying

چکیده مقاله

In this research, firstly, identify the cyclone as a device that accomplishes a solid-gas separation by imparting a spinning motion to the two-phase system. In this equipment the solid particulates move outward to the wall of the cyclone because of the centrifugal force and subsequently travel downward to enter a discharge hopper. The gas that is freed from solids leaves at the top through a central outlet. Furthermore, geometric structure, gas-solid flow characteristics and produced forces in the cyclone are described. In the next step, the collection efficiency of the cyclone is defined and moreover, geometry of cyclone, inlet flow rate of gas, particle size distribution, temperature and pressure drop are introduced as parameters related to the efficiency, and then with regard to the practical tests were taken on industrial cyclone used in fluidized bed drying unit of high density polyethylene (HDPE) particles, the process of change in the operational parameters is carefully monitored and show their relationship with the separation efficiency of double-cyclone. Finally, we will see that the performance of industrial cyclone can cause the proper functioning of the fluidized bed drying and also optimizing the effective operational parameters of the cyclone can be used to facilitate working conditions in the fluidized bed dryer and produce HDPE powdery particles with good quality.
