In the present study, nanostructured HA-YSZ composites with 0, 10 , 20 and 40 Wt.% of YSZ were electrophoretically deposited on Ti-6Al-4V substrate in order to improve thermal expansion coefficient mismatch between Ti-6Al-4V substrate and HA as well as the mechanical properties of coating. Micro-scratch tests with a progressive load was used to study the adhesion, wear resistance and fracture toughness of coatings. Micro-scratch results showed the highest critical distances of crack initiation (Lc1 ) and delaminating (Lc2) , normal load before failure and critical contact pressures as well as fracture toughness for H-20 wt. % YSZ sample.
