Abstract

Using effective and harmless methods to remove contaminants from the environment and water resources have been considered by many researchers. Among the modern methods, corona discharge for creating free radicals and ozone, which is a strong and unstable pollution treatment, is the best method. The corona discharge is created by applying narrow high-voltage pulses by pulsed power generators on two electrodes. In this paper, a new pulsed power generator topology is proposed that is based on combining voltage source and current source to produce high-voltage pulse. The proposed topology, which is supplied by a DC voltage source with low voltage, can produce the flexible pulses. In order to show the functionality of the system, some simulations have also been performed in Matlab/Simulink.
