Abstract

The details of design and fabrication of a power frequency inverter for aviation instruments are investigated in this work. The target inverter is a single-phase with fixed frequency 400 Hz and adjustable output voltage. To maintain THD of voltage lower than %8, a LC low-pass power filter is employed. Deviation of output voltage around set point voltage under various load currents should be lower than %2. Hence, a closed-loop voltage control based on integrator (I) controller is implemented. The employed inverter has four-switch (H) topology with dc bus voltage of 320 Vdc. The dc input voltage of inverter may vary between 18 to 36 Vdc. So, a double-loop voltage-current control structure is used. The performance of designed inverter at various conditions is demonstrated by implementation a prototype inverter based on digital signal processor (DSP) TMS320F28835.
