Abstract
Todays, the brushless DC motors (BLDCs) are generally supplied from voltage source inverters (VSIs) and have been widely used in industry and household applications. The VSIs have simple structure, but suffer from problems such as unwanted short circuit across dc-bus and using bulky capacitor in. Using the current source inverters (CSI) is the one of ways to reduce the mentioned problems in VSI-BLDC motor drives. In this paper, to reduce the switching losses and enhance the reliability, space vector modulation (SVM) as switching strategy is employed in BLDC motor drive supplied from CSI. An experimental setup system is designed and implemented to evaluate the motor behavior at different speeds.
