Abstract

In this paper, an study of two–dimensional graded finite element and boundary integral equation methods capable of modeling quasistatic behavior of nonhomogeneous viscoelastic materials made of functionally graded materials (FGMs) is presented. These formulations are derived based on the theory of elasticity. The volume fraction of the FGMs varies continuously through the thickness direction with an exponential material distribution.
