Abstract

Functionally Graded Materials (FGMs) are the special composite materials usually made from both ceramics and metals. A few models for functionally graded viscoelastic materials are presented and discussed in the literature. The present study introduces an extension of the elastic-viscoelastic correspondence principle (as applied to the homogeneous viscoelasticity theory) to nonhomogenous viscoelastic solids under assumption that the relaxation functions are separable functions in space and time
