چکیده مقاله

Architecture designers face a variety of quantitative and computational issues during the design process. They are either not interested in performing these exact calculations, or they need to conduct specialized calculation processes, or the ability to do them falls within the scope of other specialties. Conversely, their need for computational methods makes them successful in carrying out quantitative and computational activities in the design process. This issue has been highlighted and substantiated in design studies. In this regard, the following article examines examples of residential architecture in Kashan concerning architecture and climate, seeking to obtain ratios of climatic spaces that have been defined in this architecture and can now be utilized in this climate during the early stages of design. The findings revealed that the ratio of climatic spaces to the total building area in the historical houses of Kashan's hot and dry climate follow mathematical patterns. These patterns are important in the three categories of spaces providing shade, humidity, and natural ventilation, according to the Kashan psychrometric table, and can be identified in five groups through clustering (Table 9). In providing shade, the spaces were found with the following ratios (Table 8): Eivaan (5.31%), Eivaan che (2.76%), Ravaagh (8.07%), Covered space (63.64%). In providing humidity, the spaces were identified with these ratios (Table 6): Hoz (6.14%), Hozkhaneh (2.84%), Talare Sardab (7.28%), Sardab (9.00%). In providing natural ventilation, the spaces were found with the following ratios (Table 7): Green area (20.70%), Mahtabi (5.80%), Backyard (6.11%), Godal Baghche (36.66%), Yard (36.34%), Hashti (1.30%), Bad Gir 2 No. These findings can be applied in the early stages of the passive energy design process in contemporary architecture.
