Abstract

Textile industry wastewater contains a variety of contaminants such as colors. These contaminations are mutagenic and carcinogenic. Bioremediation technology that is based on the ability of microorganisms for metabolizing and decolorizing of colors has got much attention for the treatment of textile dye effluent. In this research, decolorization ability of bacteria isolated from textile industry wastewater, was measured in culture containing Reactive Red 195 for 24, 48 and 72 hours. The bacterial strain F14 showed high decolorization ability. This bacteria showed more than 85% of decolorization after 72 hours. Microbial decolorization is valuable environmental health and economically.
