Abstract

Textile industry wastewater contains high concentrations of organic and inorganic compounds, elevated pH levels, intense coloration, and high salinity. These pollutants are often carcinogenic, mutagenic, and highly toxic, posing serious threats to human, animal, and plant health. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the potential of a bacterial strain, isolated from textile wastewater in Kashan, for the biodegradation of Acid Red 14 dye across different pH levels (5, 6, 7, 8, and 9). The strain exhibited remarkable decolorization efficiency at pH 9 and a temperature of 30 °C after 12 hours of incubation. These results highlight the promising application of the strain for treating alkaline textile wastewater.
