چکیده مقاله

Background and Aim:Tribulus terrestris is an annual plant in the Zygophyllaceae family widely distributed around the world. Tribulus terrestris grows as a summer annual in colder climates. Methods:This plant was collected in September 2015 from southwest of marivan. Extractions methanolic were performed with a Soxhlet apparatus. The extract was concentrated using a rotary evaporator. The antimicrobial activity of the extract was examined against a set of twelve microorganisms(9 bacteria and 3 fungi). The extract of Tribulus terrestris was investigated for antimicrobial activity by agar well ␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣ ␣␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣ ␣␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣ milli␣␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣ ␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣ ␣␣␣ ␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣␣␣␣␣ ␣␣ ␣␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣ miller-␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣␣DMSO (as negative control) and Gentamicin and rifampin (as positive controls) were placed on the inoculated agar (24 h at 37 °C). The diameters of inhibition zones were used as a measure of antimicrobial activity and each assay was repeated twice. Results:The methanolic extract of Tribulus terrestris showed activity against pseudomonas aeruginosa (ATCC 27853). The inhibition zone diameter for this bacteria was 24 mm. The extract had no effect against the rest of the microorganisms. Conclusion:Results of present study indicated that extract of Tribulus terrestris had high antimicrobial activity against pseudomonas aeruginosa (ATCC 27853).
