چکیده مقاله
Biological synthesis of silver nanoparticles using microorganisms has received profound interest because of their potential to synthesize nanoparticles of various size, shape and morphology. In the current study, silver nanoparticles were synthesized by a bacterial strain. The soil samples were collected from heavy metal contaminated areas, Iran. The samples were used as the source material for bacterial isolation. A resistance bacterial strain to silver nitrate was selected for the synthesis of AgNPs. On treating the bacteria with 1mM AgNO3, it was found to have the ability to form AgNPs extracellularly at room temperature within 16 h. The colour change observed for the extracellular samples were further confirmed by UV–Vis spectral analysis as part of primary confirmation. Characterization of synthesized AgNPs was identified by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The antimicrobial activities of AgNPs were determined using disc diffusion method. This was confirmed by formation of brown colour and the visual observation and UV–Vis absorption at 460 nm. Further characterization of nanoparticles was confirmed by SEM. The silver nanoparticles showed good antibacterial activities.
