Tuning the Effective Parameters in Magneto-Photonic Crystal with Perpendicular Magnetic Anisotropy

چکیده مقاله

In magnetic multilayer structures, the magnetic anisotropy is determined not only by the magnetic properties and number of ferromagnetic layers, but also by interactions between them. These typical structures usually include a ferromagnetic layer characterized by different coercive fields (HC) which separated by nonmagnetic spacer layers. In this study, perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) of magnetophotonic crystal (MPC) of Ta/Cu/[Ni/Co]/Ta including [Ni/Co] stacks is evaluated. The samples were fabricated using RF sputtering equipped with seven cathodes. Easy axis and magnetic anisotropy of samples have been investigated via hysteresis loop determined by two different methods. I) Measuring the magneto-optical Kerr effect in polar and longitudinal geometry, II) Using vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). Hysteresis (M-H) loops measured with two methods are compared and measurements confirm that the two techniques are in good agreement.
