InP based Insulator-Metal-Insulator hybrid plasmonic directional coupler

چکیده مقاله

A novel Insulator-Metal-Insulator hybrid plasmonic waveguide with a layer stack of Au/InP/InGaAsP on InP substrate is investigated in this article. This layer stack was utilized to fabricate all InP-based passive and active conventional photonic integrated circuits which facilitate the fabrication process of hybrid plasmonic waveguides. The optical field will be confined in the interface of metal-dielectric (Au/InP) at the optical communication wavelength of 1550nm. The propagation length in the proposed hybrid plasmonic waveguide is determined over 20 µm. Also a directional coupler is described by using the present layer structure with a minimum coupling length of 2 µm.
