چکیده مقاله

In this article a novel design of polarization splitter based on the photonic band gap and self-collimating has been proposed. The photonic crystal is consisted of pillars on air background in hexagonal lattice. The radius of the pillars is determined 125.6 nm at a lattice constant of 580 nm by determining the gap map and band diagram. Band diagram also shows that only TE mode can propagate through the waveguides. The proposed polarization splitter has a transmission spectral of more than 85% for both of TE and TM polarized light at 1.55 μm wavelength.
