Solar ultraviolet radiation leads to the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and harmful effects such as aging, hyperpigmentation, inflammation and skin cancers. Therefore, using a sunscreen cream, lotion or spray will be effective in preventing the aforementioned consequences. Some plants have amounts of skin protection factor (SPF), which makes it important to use their extracts, oils or active compounds in the new formulations of skin care products.
