Abstract
The angular dependence of coercivity and squareness of Fe0.49Co0.41Ni0.10 nanowire arrays with various lengths have been comparatively studied. Investigation results demonstrate that the easy axis is along the wire axis for Fe0.49Co0.41Ni0.10 nanowire arrays with lengths ranging from 19 to 41 m due to their large shape anisotropy. A nonmonotonic behavior for the angular dependence of the coercivity occurs, revealing a transition between the vortex and transverse reversal modes. The analytical calculations of Hc() allow us to confirm that the magnetization reversal is ascribed to the propagation of a transverse and vortex domain wall. Furthermore, we observed that the transition angle from the vortex to transverse reversal mode shifted toward lower angles as the length increased. These results can be attributed to an increase in the magnetostatic interaction with length.
