Abstract

A photonic crystal based on nanoporous anodic alumina was fabricated by using a kind of pulse anodization in which structural parameters are controllable. The possibility of controlling optical properties of alumina photonic crystal by tuning chemical etching step and the light incident angle was investigated. The transmittance measurements show a strong photonic band gap in the range of visible light. This study provides information about tuning photonic stop band opening the potential of creating nano-optoelectronic devices based on nanoporous anodic alumina.
