Abstract

FeCo alloynanowiresweresynthesizedbyboththesymmetricandasymmetricacelectrodepositions into highlyorderedporousanodicaluminumoxidemembrane.Theeffectofdepositionfrequency (100,500,1000,1500and2500Hz),alloycomposition(Fe0.1Co0.9 to Fe0.9Co0.1) andasymmetric potential(18/18,18/16,18/14and18/12V,reductive–oxidativevoltages)onthemagneticproperties and microstructureofFeConanowireswereinvestigated.Itwasfoundthatlowerfrequencyregionsare more sensitivetotheFeandCoionconcentrations.Abody-centeredcubicstructurewitha /1 1 0S preferentialorientationwasobservedforallnanowirearrays.Thegrowthrateofnanowireswas enhancedwithanincreaseinthedifferencebetweenreductive–oxidativevoltages.Thecoercivityofas- depositedsampleswasincreasedfrom2160to2850Oeafterannealingat570 1C inAr–H2 atmosphere.
