Abstract

CoxFe1x nanowirearrayswithvariousdiametersanddifferentcompositionwerefabricatedbyac electrodepositionusingporousaluminatemplate.Coercivityalongtheeasyaxisreachestoamaximum at 2330Oe,forCoxFe1x nanowirescontainingabout40at%Co.Thecrystallinestructureofthe nanowireswasconcentration-independentandshowsabccstructure.Thecriticaldiameterfor transitionfromcoherentrotationtocurlingmodeis35nmforCoFecontaininglessthan40at%Co while itis30nmforthosewithmorethan40at%Co.OptimizingthemagneticpropertiesofCoFewith differentCocontentwasseentobedependentonthediameterofnanowires.For25nmdiameter,the optimumwasshownbelow50at%Cowhileitwasseenabove50at%fornanowireswith50nm diameter.Theangulardependenceofthecoercivitywithnanowiresdiameterwerealsostudied.
