چکیده مقاله
Background: Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic neurological disease characterized by episodes of nervous system dysfunction that remit and recur over several decades. The development of MS must start in individuals who are genetically susceptible. Purpose: In the current study, a series of candidate genes in multiple sclerosis, particularly HLA in order to Classification, are reviewed. Methods: For this purpose, a number of articles published in the field of Multiple Sclerosis and HLA were studied. Results: the importance of genetic factors in susceptibility to MS has been shown by genetic epidemiological studies. Epidemiological analysis shows that MS results from unknown environmental factors, acting on genetically susceptible individuals. Despite nearly three decades of searching for candidate genes in multiple sclerosis, the only unambiguous association remains the class II major histocompatibility complex (MHC). HLA is the human body’s version of MHC, Both are group of antigens or proteins that are found in the surface of cells and in the genetic makeup or DNA. Their functions are also very similar. They identify and prevent a foreign protein or cell in entering or its spreading in an organism’s body. Early studies demonstrated an association between multiple sclerosis and human leukocyte antigens. Conclusion: In this paper, therefore, we wish to examine critically factual information surrounding MS and Classification of HLA alleles in different populations associated with MS. Since the purpose of research is to use unbiased data to direct future studies, an open-minded approach may help to direct future investigations into more fruit fulpaths.
