Synthesis and optical properties of LaF۳ nanoparticles, its L-cysteine bio-conjugation and potential applications for cancer treatment

چکیده مقاله

Abstract: LaF3 nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized by co-precipitation method and were characterized. The average crystallite size of LaF3 NPs about 12 nm was confirmed using X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and image of scanning electron microscope (SEM). The result of FTIR analysis reveals LaF3 NPs coated by L-cysteine. The emission spectrum of the LaF3 NPs is largely overlapped with the absorption band of protoporphyrin IX (PPIX). Therefore, the energy transfer from LaF3 nanoparticles to PPIX molecules is very efficient for photodynamic therapy PDT.
