چکیده مقاله

Designing effective tunnel support systems within heterogeneous rock masses poses a significant challenge for geologists and engineers. This study presents the design of a tunnel support system for the Azad Pumped Storage Power Plant (APSP), utilizing results from Truncated Gaussian Simulation (TGS). Two tunnels within this complex were selected for analysis, employing geostatistical methodologies. Rock mass properties are critical input parameters for any tunnel support system analysis. The data utilized in this research comprises Rock Mass Rating (RMR) values from approximately 3 km of tunnel length at APSP. The modeling tools employed were categorized into estimation and simulation methods. Estimation techniques included Inverse Distance Weighting (IDW) and Ordinary Kriging (OK). Given the discrete nature of the RMR data, TGS was chosen as the simulation method. This involved simulating individual RMR parameters before summing them to derive the final RMR values. The results demonstrate that, based on the TGS simulated model, over 90% of the simulated region exhibits fair rock quality. Consequently, the tunnel support system was designed in accordance with these simulated RMR models.
