Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the role of moral education in observing the hijab of female students of Kashan University. This research is descriptive-correlational in terms of implementation. The statistical population of all female students of Kashan University in undergraduate and graduate courses in the academic year 2015-2016 was 3252 people, among whom using the Cochran's formula and random sampling methods, 344 people were selected. A researcher-made questionnaire on moral education and hijab has been used to collect information. The validity of instruments using KMO statistics for moral education was estimated to be 0.94 and for hijab 0.91 and the reliability of the questionnaires through Cronbach's alpha was estimated to be 0.95 for moral education and 0.92 for hijab. Data analysis was performed at two descriptive levels (frequency, percentage, minimum and maximum, mean and standard deviation) and inferential (regression, structural equation model, t and F test) with the help of SPSS 22 and AMOS 22 software. The findings suggest that the moral education variable has been able to predict 77.44% of hijab changes. The results of data analysis show that the role of moral education and each of its components in observing the hijab of students is significant. Accordingly, the stronger each of the components, the more appropriate the observance of the hijab
