چکیده مقاله
Recent studies show that the effects of soil–structure interaction (SSI) may be detrimental to the seismic response of structure and neglecting SSI in analysis may lead to un-conservative design. The objective of this study is to simulate the performance of typical steel moment resisting frames (MRFs) on three soil types through a Winkler-based approach. OpenSees platform has been adopted to perform nonlinear time history analysis using the actual ground motion records of varied hazard levels. The numerical results indicate that the SSI can alter the force and drift demands, which is significantly important to the performance-based design of structures.
