Abstract
In this paper, we consider the anti-invariant submanifolds of trans-Sasakian manifolds and prove that trans-Sasakian manifolds which have non-trivial anti-invariant submanifolds are $\beta$-Kenmotsu. We also show that recurrent and $2$-recurrent anti-invariant submanifolds of trans-Sasakian manifolds are totally geodesic.
