Abstract

MgSO4: Eu microcrystalline was synthesized by solid state method. For insurance of true formation of MgSO4 and of course presence of Eu impurity into lattice, EDS test was done. The most TL sensitivity was observed in 0.5 mol % Eu impurity. Two main peak was observed in TL glow curve of MgSO4: Eu after gamma irradiation: 151 and 197 ◦C. For this material the linear dose response range was determined in 0.1–50Gy. Also, its reusability and fading were tested and results were satisfying. TL sensitivity of our MgSO4: Eu was about 6 times more than that of TLD-100 after 500 mGy Gamma irradiation. Kinetic parameters such as order of kinetics (b), activation energy (E) and frequency factor (s) obtained by different methods including computerized glow curve deconvolution, variable heating rate, isothermal decay and initial rise methods. The result obtained by these methods were in good agreement.
