Preparation and characterization of sheet-like GdVO4:La nanocrystals

We can synthesis GdVO4:La3+ nanosheets with tetragonal (t-) structure using a simple hydrothermal method at 160℃ for 12 h as a down converter material. The produced samples were characterized using powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV–vis) and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. The UV–Vis spectra of the GdVO4:La3+ NCs could absorb UV light with the maximum absorption at 285 nm and could emit the visible light at 416, 481 and 614 nm.
