Abstract

Industrial heaters has a main role in various industries, consuming significant energy resources. Enhancing the energy efficiency of these heaters is of paramount importance in the current scenario of energy conservation. This study delves into the upgrading of existing heaters by introducing an additional economizer, utilizing the power of Aspen EDR to optimize heat transfer and improve overall efficiency. This paper presents a comprehensive study on the upgrading of existing heaters by incorporating an additional economizer, facilitated by thermal and calculation study. The primary focus is to enhance the efficiency of conventional heaters by optimizing the heat transfer process through the newly added heat exchanger. The paper outlines the methodology employed for analysis of the thermal and draft calculations of the augmented system, presents a guide line results, and discusses the implications of the findings on overall heater efficiency. In this direction, in order to study and design the optimal mode of energy saving and observe the optimal operational performance conditions. New heat exchanger arrangement is presented. Finally, process and operating conditions are economically investigated and the findings are compared with the amount of investment.
