Instability analysis of axially moving sandwich plates with a magnetorheological elastomer core and GNP‑reinforced face sheets

چکیده مقاله

In this study, an investigation is presented on the instability analysis of axially moving sandwich plates. It is considered that the plate core is magnetorheological, and polymeric face sheets are reinforced with graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs). Firstorder shear deformation theory (FSDT) is supposed to perform the mathematical modeling of the plate. To estimate the effective mechanical properties of the face sheets, the Halpin–Tsai model and the rule of mixture are utilized. The governing equations and associated boundary conditions are derived using Hamilton’s principle and solved employing a semi-analytical approach for Levy-type plates. Various parameters' effects on the instability of the plate (critical speed) are examined, such as the magnetic field intensity, the MR core thickness, dispersion pattern and GNPs mass fraction, boundary conditions, and geometrical parameters of the plate.
