چکیده مقاله
RemovaRemoval of heavy metals from wastewater is of critical importance due to their high toxicity and tendency to crisis of humanity. In this study, we made a positively charged nanofiltration membrane was developed for removing heavy metals. A composite NF membrane was fabricated by modification of polysulfone (PSf) ultrafiltration support. The active top-layer was formed by interfacial cross-linking polymerization of polyethylenimine (PEI) with p-xylene dichloride (XDC) and quaternized with methyliodide to form a perpetual positively charged layer. The morphological changes of membrane surfaces and cross-section were studied by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM. As a result, a high water flux and CaCl2 rejection (1000 ppm) was obtained for the composite membranes with amounts of 17.8 L/ (m2.h) and 93.6% at 4 bars and 30oC, respectively. At the end of a real wastewater sample was examined by synthesizing nanofiltration membranes for separating Ni+ cations from wastewater. Ni+ cation concentration in these experiments was measured by atomic absorption spectrometry and the rejection was determined 96.2 %.
