چکیده مقاله

In this paper, a novel sulfonated aromatic diamine (2,5-DABSS) was used as a monomer to prepare the thin-film composite nanofiltration (TFC NF) membranes. These membranes were utilized for desalination of water in Kashan. Using this monomer and trimesoyl chloride, a series of sulfonated polyamide thin- films were coated on a microporous acrylic support membrane through an interfacial polymerization technique. The membrane prepared under the optimum condition showed an increase in the pure water 2 flux (61.2 L/h.m ) and rejection of 1000 ppm Na SO aqueous solution (95.6%) in relation to common 2 4 polyamide nanofiltration membrane. The reason of this observation was the improvement of surface hydrophilicity which was enhanced by the presence of sulfonated diamine monomer. The properties of membrane were truly characterized by FT-IR, SEM and AFM nanofiltration setup.
