چکیده مقاله

The lattice Boltzmann method is a modern approach in Computational Fluid Dynamics. It is often used to solve the incompressible, time-dependent Navier-Stokes equations numerically. Its strength lies however in the ability to easily represent complex physical phenomena. This paper presents a numerical study of turbulent flow in a T-Shaped pipe with square cross section using the Smagorinsky–Lilly SGS model for Large Eddy Simuation (LES). LES is widely used in simulating turbulent flows in industries because of its less computational needs compared to Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS). Also in this work forced convection heat transfer in the pipe that caused because of difference temperatures between the inlet fluid and the walls, is analyzed. At the end vorticy lines, stream lines, velocity at different parts and temperature distribution in the pipe are showen.
